A Journey to Mudgee and a Perfect Match
I first met Sam McKendry, who now leads the family-run Vinifera Wines, during a trip to Mudgee back in May. If you’ve never been to the Mudgee wine region, picture this: a picturesque vineyard, a deck overlooking a hobbyist airport, local cheeses and snacks, and a tasting flight that you can enjoy at your own pace. After a few months of selling quite a few cases of Vinifera’s Sparkling Maddy – a sparkling piccolo bubbly favourite among our customers – I received a little surprise in my next order. A sample of their Cabernet Sauvignon in a 375ml bottle. From the moment I cracked open the lid, I knew we had something special on our hands.
